Hi! I'm Christy.
I started this blog years ago as a way to keep track of, and share, my travel adventures with friends and family. Blogging began, for me, more as a journal than anything else. Somewhere between 2008 and now, my site has taken on a life of it's own, and I'm so excited to have you along for the ride!
I'm a traveler first. What I mean by that is this: There are a ton of people out there who aspire to make a living out of traveling. I aspire to make a living and travel. Travel is what gets me going, it inspires me and pushes me to grow. I never want to lose that passion for traveling, so I will try my best to juggle paid gigs and this blog. Time will tell how well I can keep the balance. I will always write my absolute, honest opinion, no matter what.
I first left the United States on a whirlwind musical tour of Europe. Six countries in two weeks, that sort of thing. It astonished me. Three years later, hungry for more travel adventures, I joined the crew of a Cruise Ship and spent my summer sailing around the Caribbean. For the next five years, I alternated school semesters and time sailing the world. By the time I turned twenty-six I'd visited FOURTY countries.
Eventually, I made the decision to leave the Shippie lifestyle behind, focus on schooling and get a land-based job. Sure, I miss cruising, but life is about forward progression. Currently, I work full-time as a Corporate Video Editor in downtown Oakland, California, and I travel as often as possible. Over the past few years, my international wanderings have taken me to France, Barbados, Scotland, London, Italy, Malta, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey and Greece. Later this year, I'm heading to Israel.
In 2013, I plan to move to Italy. I'll be taking off a minimum of six months from work to live La Vita Bella and I can't wait!
