For work, I've been spending time in the city this week. I'm on day two of three. And then to top it off, by some off twist of fate, I will be going back into the city on a rare, planned expedition to take my Mother to ______ (It's a surprise!) on Friday. Four days in a row. That just about fills my quota for the year, I think. Except I found myself somewhat enjoying (and at times amused) by the goings-on that I saw going on today. I think I may need to come up with a project to get to know my local metropolitan area a bit better. What do you think?
This is what I'm running/Why I'm in the city
Nice view of Nordstrom. Powell and Market.
I've always seen chess boards set up in every big city I've been to. The coolest ones were in Puerto Rico, in case you were wondering. I finally found them in SF. I know, totally exciting, right?
I've missed a few posts. But do you really look for the chess tables in every city? I have no idea where they are here in Denver. I'm a quest now.
ReplyDeleteLuis and I are big city people! I love the hussle and bustle! But I'm also a huge country fan. Love being in the outdoors with all that space.
ReplyDeleteLuis grew up in Caracas with 6 million other people. No wonder he's not use to the smallness of Scotland!
Jacqui - I don't look for them. I always just seem to find them. It must be my lot in life to find chess tables. Odd because I don't play chess! :)
ReplyDeleteMares - you totally are! I can picture you living in London or Lisbon or Barcelona ( ;0 ) and loving it!
