Happy June 1st, y'all!! (Can you believe it's June?)
I'm not sure that it's fair to feature Faraway Fantasy Friday today... after all, I'm already Farway from home, down home on Gram's farm.
But. Even so. I'm still thinking (a little bit) about my upcoming trip to Jerusalem. (Have you been? If so, what was your favorite thing to do/see?)
Today my friend Rebecca, an old schoolmate from my days at Southern Virginia University is coming down to spend the weekend on the farm. She and I will actually be traveling to Jerusalem together in the fall as well, so we thought this weekend would be a great time to sit down and do some planning and daydreaming about what we'll do while in Israel. This city is packed with history and religious significance! I'm so excited!
We're going to be very busy on this trip doing things like:
-Following the Stations of the Cross on Via Dolorosa.
-Seeing Golgotha and the Upper Room.
-Going to Masada.
-Seeing the Mt. of Olives.
-Taking a couple of days and going to Jordan to see Petra (my second visit... can't wait to go back!!).
-Talking to locals and making friends and seeing what this ancient city really is all about.
-Eating Falafel and Lamb again (OH YUM! And don't get me started on the tomatoes and cucumbers there... wow!)
-Seeing the Wailing Wall & Dome of the Rock
-Being woken each morning by the Call to Prayer (and then promptly turning over and going back to sleep).
